Moritz Fabian was born in 1994 in Cologne, Germany. His dance education started in 2008 in ballroom dance. He later continued his dance training with the addition of classical ballet in 2010 and contemporary dance in 2012. During this time he gained a lot of stage experiences by participating in several performances, organized by the institution.
 

In 2013 he graduated with the German Abitur and attended Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main, to start his studies in the bachelor dance program. There he further developed his classical ballet and contemporary dance technique, and gained foundational skills in international folklore, improvisation technique, as well as in contact improvisation. In several performances he danced pieces and worked with Dieter Heitkamp, Marc Spradling, Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Ivan Perez Aviles, Toula Limnaios, Georg Reischl, Marguerite Donlon, Luc Dunberry and Regina van Berkel. This also led to an increase of his performance and working experience. He finished the dance bachelor program in 2017. 

 

Since then he has been part of several Opera Productions at Oper Frankfurt, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Hessisches Landestheater Marburg and Staatstheater Wiesbaden as a dancer, and also participated in projects in the freelance scene.

In 2017 he co-founded Backstein Kollektiv and got to realise two projects in the freelance scene.

 

Besides his work as a dancer, he studied Sociology and Theatre studies at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and finished his education with a Bachelor degree in 2023.
